About this Course

This is a Level 8 Certificate (30 Credits) in Applied Digital business.

The objective of this course is to equip students with strong skills in digital business. It will give the graduate an in depth knowledge of the digital landscape and the latest digital tools and techniques. Graduates will have the ability to confidently promote business in an online environment.

It particularly focuses on the application of digital skills as required to work within industry particularly in small to medium SMEs. It will equip graduates to a high professional standard with a particular focus on developing an online presence for a business.

On Completion of this course you will be able to
- Compare and contrast online marketing strategies
- Design and develop an online marketing strategy for business concept
- Critically evaluate a variety of online business modules
- Use a variety of online tools to develop an online presence for a business concept
- Use a variety of tools to develop an online personal brand using ePortfolio
- Think critically in light of social, cultural, philosophical and ethical business issues as they relate to
digital business

Objectives

The objective of this course is to equip students with strong skills in digital business. It will give the graduate an in depth knowledge of the digital landscape and the latest digital tools and techniques. Graduates will have the ability to confidentially promote business in an online environment.

The programme is highly practical in nature and students work on real business projects as part of their continuous assessment work. During the year students work on real business scenarios and develop and execute a customized online and web marketing strategy.

Entry Requirements

180 credits and an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher in an ordinary degree (Level 7). Candidates who do not meet this requirement but who can demonstrate equivalency through work experience must complete the IADT RPL (recognition of prior learning) process

Long Description

This course is a 30 Credit Level 8. It will be delivered on a Tuesday 9 - 1pm and a Thursday 6 - 9pm.
The two modules covered are:

- Digital Storytelling and Web Building (15 credits) - (100%CA)

The aim of this module is to:
- Introduce Digital storytelling and webdesign as a tool for capturing, exploring and sharing ideas related
to business
- Develop a number of website pertaining to both in-class and assignment case studies
- Develop an e-portfolio of work over the course of the programme.


- Social Media Marketing (15 credits) - (100% CA)

The aim of this module is to:
- Provide learners with a clear overview of the role of digital marketing and its capabilities to deliver
marketing objectives
- Give the student practical transferable digital marketing skills
- Help students to understand a strategic approach to digital marketing

The final application deadline is 15 September 2017, however the course may fill in advance of this deadline.

IELTS composite score in range 6.0 - 6.5 with not less than 6.0 in any one component
TOEFL Computer based test 215 or internet based text 80
