The course consists of a series a scientific, technological, quality, improvement and personal development modules designed and delivered by highly experienced tutors. Practical Modules will be provided through the use of the ITT Dublin pilot facilities.
Online learning and support will be provided through the use of Moodle. Participants who were unable to attend a particular module can obtain the information online if required. Participants who return to work during the duration of the course can avail of the online option to complete the lectures and sit the final exams. Extensive Coaching & Mentorship workshops will be provided with specific focus on individual assessment and improvement.ing meaningful employment.
Applicants must possess higher level qualifications at NFQ Levels 7 or above in a science, engineering or a related discipline. A proportion of places will be open to those in employment who wish to upgrade their skills within or to enter the Life Sc Industries and 'Home makers' who have been out of the workforce for a considerable length of time and now wish to re-enter employment.
Ideally candidates will possess relevant experience in manufacturing, quality, laboratory, supply chain, maintenance or engineering, in one or more of the following industries; electronics, construction, chemical, semiconductor, agriculture, finance, or food & beverage. Our RPL policy will ensure that those with relevant industrial experience are given the opportunity to apply for a place where this experience will be considered in determining the suitability for the programme.
This Level 8 programme combines a blend of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing modules with a range of business and industry directed modules giving course participants an in-depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Aseptic Processes, Biotechnology, Formulations and Packaging, Process Analytical Technology (PAT),
Validation, Quality and Lean Operations. Accredited by ITT Dublin, this six-month course is delivered by experienced lecturers from academia and industry. Over 75% of the 2010 to 2016 Innopharma Lab's Level 8 students have returned to employment in a cross section of roles such as Project Management, Automation Engineering, Validation, Process Engineering, Process Technician, Operations, Supply Chain, QC Analysts, QA analysts, Regulatory, Environmental and Safety Consultancy.
The Biopharma sector employees over 28,000 and exports over €30B. With 450 Medical Technology companies in Ireland, (50% indigenous), exporting over €12B products annually and employing 29,000, these sectors continues to attract significant indigenous and international investment. Ireland needs to import personnel to work in specialist roles in the Pharma/Medtech Sectors to fill skills deficits. This Innopharma upskilling programme, is filling this employment gap throughout the country, upskilling and giving the opportunity to graduates to transition towards and upskill within the pharmaceutical and medical devices industries both in Dublin and regionally throughout Ireland.
During the programme participants receive intensive and continuous support in the area of CV and interview preparation. All students are given one-on-one business coaching. Innopharma Labs employ Industrial Liaison Officers with local knowledge for each of the centers where the course is delivered who work directly with employers to match the students with skills needs and opportunities in their companies. This in conjunction with links to and mentorship from senior industry leaders have proven in the past to be an integral contributing factor in Innopharma Lab's participants successfully returning to employment.
A regular panel of guest speakers from industry form a supplementary part of the programme. This allows the students to develop networks within the industry which facilitates return to employment. Previous presentations from Pfizer, Becton Dickinson, Alkermes, HPRA, Nypro MedTech, Warner Chilcott, Merck, Stecics, GC Astetics, URS, Head count Solutions, Cregg Recruitment, Goodman Medical, CCP Recruitment, Collins McNicholas, CPL Recruitment, Headcount Solutions, Eflexes Recruitment and Lake Region have been highly successful. Students are guided on further developing their networks through the use of the Innopharma Labs LinkedIn account and attendance at networking events, organised by Innopharma Labs.
Working in conjunction with several key recruitment agencies in their areas allows the students to stay close to active job opportunities and avail of support in the process of returning to work.
As a service and technology provider to the pharmaceutical industry, Innopharma maintains close contact with developments within the industry in terms of on-going changes in product output and technical developments. This gives an insight into potential opportunities for our graduates.
The outcomes from the for 2015/2016 has resulted in over 75% of our students securing meaningful employment.
From the initial inquiry right through to the participant taking up employment, this programme is designed to support job readiness. Every participant attends an interview with our selection panel of industry experts to determine the best strategy for their return to work. This initial assessment determines their core competencies, transferable skills and the most suitable roles within the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industry.
An integral part of the programme is dedicated to Career Development guided by professional business coaches. This process allows each individual to develop a career strategy for themselves. Participants understand how to structure their CV. Interview skills are developed with individual feedback and coaching provided over the course of the programme.
Participants are provided with industry expert as mentors to support and challenge them and ensure they remain on track to return to industry. These industry mentors are representatives from industry from such companies as Nypro, Pfizer, Becton & Dickinson, Alkermes, The Irish Medicines Board, Warner Chilcott, Merck, GC Aesthetics, URS, Head Count Solutions, Cregg Recruitment, Goodman Medical, CCP Recruitment, Collin McNicholas, CPL Recruitment, Lake Region, Vention, KCI, Elanco and Jacksonstone. In addition this panel provide regular input into the programme and its relevance to current and anticipated skills requirements.
