Why Choose This Course

Testimonials from recent graduates of the programme (https://www.wit.ie/news/news/michelle-devaney-student-story, https://www.wit.ie/news/news/fidelma-connors-student-story) provide strong and compelling evidence that past students were confident, motivated, knowledgeable and well prepared to enter the workplace upon completion of the programme.

One third of the total credits (20/60 credits) of this programme are allocated to job readiness and are 100% credit bearing. Included is a dedicated ‘Career Development Skills’ module (5 credits) which identifies career-related strengths, skills and competencies, to critically reflect and identify students needs. There is also an option to complete a ‘3-month industry placement with applied learning portfolio’ or an ‘Industry–led project’ (15 credits) - both proven successful pathways for students to upskill and progress their careers.

Transversal skills such as interpersonal skills, critical thinking, analytical skills, prioritising tasks, time management, project management and problem solving are some of the valuable skills required by industry that the students will
acquire. These skills are enhanced greatly as the students are exposed to the industry experiences of their student peers, guest speakers, active learning through case studies and undertaking work placement.
The nature of the online delivery of this programme embraces the technologies used in the remote workplace, which will be prominent in the workplace of the future.

The skills acquired by students completing this course will naturally equip them with the knowledge, confidence and necessary personal skills to enable them to progress upwards in their career towards middle and senior management
positions in industry. The students will gain valuable skills by participating in groups in class and taking ownership of their course work as they engage in lifelong learning.
