This programme is aimed at non-digital marketing graduates who are looking to advance their careers by gaining a qualification in digital marketing.
The programme will be of interest to those with a non-business qualification, but with experience of or interest in marketing and who may be considering moving into a digital-marketing role, along with those self-employed or in employment who require cross-skilling or up-skilling in digital marketing techniques but with a strong focus on the relationship between the various business support functions, including marketing, strategy and digital marketing.
Marketing, and increasingly, digital marketing, permeates through every industry sector and to progress in any organisation will require graduates to have not only skills in their relevant fields but also the digital marketing skills to operate in the workplace.
This programme covers the key principles of digital marketing, including assessing the impact of digital technology on the practice of marketing, integrating social media tools into a marketing communications strategy, effectively using different forms of digital marketing in the development of an online presence, along with developing a plan for marketing a product or business online.
1. An honours degree Level 8 in a non-digital marketing or a non-cognate discipline or approved equivalent qualification. Priority of entry will be given to applicants with a higher classification of award.
2. Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) / Special Case Registrations:Prospective participants who do not meet the entry requirements for the programme detailed above, but who may qualify for admission by meeting certain other equivalent criteria, should notify the Flexible Learning Office and request consideration under RPL. Please submit your application online and then email all your supporting documents to Springboard@lit.ie
3.EXAMS:Please note that the exams for this course will be part continuous assessment and part final sit down exam. Exams take place weekdays, during daytime hours i.e. between the hours of 9am and 6pm. TBC closer to exam time.
4. ENGLISH LANGUAGE:Applicants who do not have English as their first language must ensure they satisfy English Language requirements. For entry to undergraduate courses, a minimum score of 5.5 in an IELTS exam is required. For postgraduate courses, a minimum of 6.0 is required. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure their English proficiency meets these requirements.
5.FEES: The full programme fee is €5,700. The subsidised fee for employed applicants is €570. This programme is 90% Springboard funded for employed applicants and 100% Springboard funded for unemployed applicants.

What will the time commitment be?
Each 5 credits will normally equate to approximately 100 Total Learning Hours. Total Learning Hours includes the time you spend in class (lectures, tutorials, practical elements) and the time you spend completing work outside of college. The balance between these two varies by discipline, and by level of study. You should bear in mind that the workload will increase at particular times e.g. when assignments are due.
In February 2020, responding to an online survey, twenty three (23) flexible learning students in Higher Diploma Digital Marketing and International Business blended learning programs, reported the following. Seventy percent (70%) envisage immediately using the skills they have acquired in the workplace and ninety percent (90%) advocate, the course will be a significant element in career advancement.
This programme would be of benefit to anyone interested in a career in Digital Advertising, Social Media Marketing, Marketing Optimization, Marketing Management, Branding and related areas.
