Long Description

This Special Purpose Award in Process Engineering Developments is designed to broaden and deepen the knowledge and skill base of graduates of a level 8 degree in an engineering or science discipline who already have experience of Chemical/Pharmaceutical/Process engineering.

This Postgraduate level award develops Transition Skills for process development. Engineering graduates have shown particular interest in enhancing their knowledge of issues such as Emerging Technologies in Biopharma-Processing, Process Technology Transfer and Lean Manufacturing. Modules have been designed specifically to meet these requirements. Technical deepening modules include specific graduate requirements such as treatment of issues such as Emerging Technologies in Bio-Pharmaceutical / Chemical Processing, Quality by Design, Validation, Environment, Health and Safety and Process Technology Transfer.

This one-year programme is an industrially focused level 9 programme where students gain valuable knowledge and skills in key subject area, which are pertinent to working in highly regulated manufacturing environments such as GMP, QA, QC, Lean Manufacturing, Validation, Manufacturing Technology, Manufacturing Operations, Technology Transfer and Bio-processing. Integral elements of this one-year Springboard programme are the blended delivery involving online delivery of some modules, continuing professional development (CPD), and a two-day training course at the state-of-the-art National Institute for Bio-processing Research and Training (NIBRT).
