The Higher Diploma in Science in Computing is an Honours Degree level graduate conversion programme which gives graduates from non-computing backgrounds the skills and knowledge to start a career in the IT industry.

Entry Requirements

Level 7 Ordinary Degree with a significant numerate element. RPL processes may be used to allow access for candidates who have a Level 7 qualification and may wish to use Institute prior learning processes to demonstrate numeracy/ problem solving experience. Suitability of individual applicants usually supported by interview and aptitude testing.

The programme consists of two semesters of intensive computing education allied to a six months internship in an IT company.

Work Placement :
A work placement of 30 credits for a duration of 12 weeks is also part of the programme and enables students to partake in an industry placement over the summer months to enhance their employment opportunities.
