About this Course

The MSc in IT Management is designed to enable participants to meet the challenges faced by IT managers in both public sector and for-profit organisations. The programme provides graduates with the necessary skills to fulfil a role in IT Management. Graduates will also understand how IT Managers are perceived by business, demonstrate an understanding of business and be able to support the setting of the business agenda nationally and internationally. The Masters course sets IT Management firmly in the context of the business environment. It develops participants' capacity to understand the role of IT as an organisation function and as a strategic business partner, and identifies how IT is used to realise increased business value through innovation. The curriculum balances academic sophistication and leading-edge research with pragmatism in a new, exciting and extremely relevant course of study.

Entry Requirements

The MSc is designed for graduates of Bachelor of Science in Computing Level 8 or equivalent (minimum 2nd class honours) or Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering Level 8 or equivalent (minimum 2nd class honours). Candidates with significant experience in the computing field (as determined by Recognised Prior Learning), in addition to an Honours Primary Degree in another discipline area may also be considered for entry. Applicants applying for entry via routes other than those listed above will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Criteria to be considered will include academic qualifications and recognition of prior learning. Applicants may be called for interview as part of the application process.
