About this Course

The aim of this programme is to give students the skills of systematic recording and the critical examination of existing and proposed way of performing work, as well as establishing standard times for completing prescribed tasks at a defined level of performance. The skills training will include both theory and practical elements

Objectives

This programme which is supported by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering (IISE), aims to give students the skills of systematic recording and the critical examination of existing and proposed ways of performing work, as well as establishing standard times for completing prescribed tasks at a defined level of performance. The skills training will include both theory and practical elements. It covers international best practice in work measurement and methods engineering and incorporates the recommendations of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), and utilises the British standards Institution (BSI) rating scales.

Entry Requirements

Students applying for the level 8 award will be required to have a Level 7 qualification in a cognate discipline. Applicants not meeting the entry criteria above may apply for the programme through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). This learning which may be formal or informal learning may be considered as part of the entry requirements for the programme. All applicants will be considered on a case by case basis. Lifelong Learning reserves the right to require applicants to attend for an interview to determine their suitability for the programme.
