About this Course

The Diploma in Enterprise Development is for applicants within the greater Dublin area who are aspiring to start a business. This part-time course will run on mornings and/or afternoons and will be based at The Liffey Trust, Dublin Docklands and the Dublin Institute of Technology. The Liffey Trust building is located close to the LUAS Red Line Terminus at the "3 Arena" good Dublin Bus and LUAS service. We encourage applicants aged over 25 years with some work experience and an inclination to create their own job to apply. The 30 week programme leads to a Dublin Institute of Technology NFQ Level 7 Diploma in Enterprise Development. The programme will include workshops in product development, finance, marketing, sales and digital skills but more importantly will focus on giving you the entrepreneur the confidence to achieve success. The Programme Team will match the participant with an experienced mentor who will work with you to research your business idea, test market your concept/product and prepare you to reach a trading position

Objectives

To equip participants with the skills to set-up and successfully run their own business with a focus on Online Trading and Social Media.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have achieved a minimum of Leaving Certificate standard education or appropriate life/work experience. A third level qualification will be an advantage. All applicants will be interviewed by the Programme Team and will be given an outline of the programme.

Those with an interest in starting a business or with an interest in self-employment will be considered for a place. Where an applicant does not hold a Leaving Certificate, the Dublin Institute of Technology Recognition of Prior Learning policy will be followed. This policy encourages applicants over 25 with relevant work experience to apply.
