About this Course

If you are interested in global business and management and want an internationally recognised business qualification and the potential to progress to take Masters course and also a great career then this course is for you.

This is a one-year part-time challenging honours business programme that will give you a global focus and expose you to key ideas and new thinking that is essential for enterprises that trade internationally.

The Bachelor of Business in International Business has an external focus where Learners are exposed to key knowledge and skills that are essential for enterprises that trade or seek to trade internationally.

Graduates will have the global business know-how, the critical and analytical thinking, the creativity and innovation, the cultural awareness capability and the cross sectorial-skills and talent to support forward thinking businesses.


The programme provides a mix of modules designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of graduates so as to enable them to be competent and prepared for employment at entry and middle ranks of business and management within various industrial, commercial and service settings.

Entry Requirements

Those eligible for entry onto the course are required to have a level 7 business qualification or equivalent or a level 8 qualification with relevant experience in any other discipline or equivalent.

The programme seeks to facilitate entry to all those with approved prior experiential learning i.e. knowledge and skills acquired through life, work experience and study not formally attested through formal certification as per QQI Policy on Prior Experiential Learning

Long Description

Despite the advantages of embracing globalisation and the risks of not doing so many businesses remain focused on their national markets. The main reported reasons are a lack of financial resources but most of all the lack of skills or skilled human capital to tackle internationalisation.

This course addresses the lack of skilled human capital and provides you with life and business skills supported by a work placement experience that will position you to gain employment or enhance your promotional prospects in indigenous or export-oriented organisations.

This course is for you if you:

a) Wish to obtain a QQI internationally recognised honours business degree that will set you on your way to a successful business career or progress to a master’s degree and want to learn from friendly and highly qualified industry-experienced academic staff and expert guest lecturers.

b) Want to be part of a cultural diverse group of learners from all over the world while unlocking your learning potential with small class-sizes, a diverse student community while at the same time maximising your career potential as you grow in confidence learning about international business in a student-centred learning environment.
