About this Course

The aim of the Certificate in IT Project Management is to upskill IT practitioners in current best practices of project and operations management in line with industry best practices including PRINCE2 (Project IN Controlled Environment) and ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and Agile Scrum.

Programme Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this programme, participants will be able to:

Manage an IT project from concept to closure.

Select and apply of the most appropriate project management methodology and practices to a given situation.

Produce professional standard project management deliverable.

Apply Microsoft Project as a project management tool.

Apply the skills, knowledge and competencies in a real environment.

The proposed programme will offer 4, 5 credit (ECTS) modules:
100% blended (mix of classroom/computer lab (12.5%) and e-learning(87.5%))

From industry consultation blended delivery is the preferred option.
Blended Delivery, online and 1 day per month on campus (not mandatory).
Having regard to the fact that participants may already be in employment, and minimum disruption to the working week is
essential, this course provision will be blended, all content will be available on line. Student effort includes a range of activities including online activities, scheduled on campus days for practical computer lab work and assignments, assessments, directed and independent study.

The proposed SPA is aimed at IT practitioners wishing to upskill in IT project management knowledge, skills and practices. It is pitched at level 7, Administrator level, therefore enabling individuals to advance in their career.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirement is a level 6 major award or equivalent.

Applicants for whom English is not their first language are recommended to have a minimum score of 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in each component) in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent.
