About this Course

The New Higher Diploma of Science in Digital Marketing with Analytics is a one-year postgraduate programme at NFQ Level 8 and aimed at those working in marketing who wish to up skill and gain a postgraduate qualification and/or those from a numerical discipline who wish to develop a career in marketing.

The lines are blurring between Marketing and IT. Digital insights and analytics are to the forefront of all Marketing strategy and integral to day-to-day Marketing operations. This programme will be ideally positioned to develop digitally focused and adaptable Marketing graduates, who will flourish in the emerging data driven, IT focused marketing function.

Given the growth and contemporary developments in digital marketing, it is an important opportunity for those with existing marketing qualifications and working in the sector to up-skill in digital marketing strategy, theory and practice. In addition, it provides an opportunity to those working in marketing from other discipline backgrounds to gain a qualification in marketing allowing them progress in their marketing career. Likewise, it will provide an opportunity to attract new skills to the marketing function, such as candidates with strong numerical skills and qualifications who wish to join the exciting and dynamic digital marketing sector. It will allow these candidates to add value by providing important data on trends and patterns that will enable better decision-making and digital strategies.

The programme content focuses on key aspects of marketing with modules in Marketing Management, Integrated Marketing Communications and B2B Marketing; data analysis with modules in Digital Analytics and Data Reporting for Digital Marketing; and digital era marketing with modules in Ecommerce, Content Writing, SEO & AdWords and Digital Marketing Strategy. The design and development of a digital marketing strategy for a client organisation and/or their own employer as part of the Digital Marketing Strategy module will allow learners integrate their knowledge across all modules and provide a tangible output from the programme to enhance their current marketing role and/or future career prospects.

Entry Requirements

Successful attainment of level 7 degree in cognate area, e.g. Art, Business, Architectural Technology, Communications and PR, Product Design Innovation, Industrial Design
Applications not covered under the above entry criteria will be considered on an individual basis, through submission of an RPL portfolio in accordance with the IT Carlow Recognition of Prior Learning Policy
