The Creative Leaders Programme aims to empower its participants to achieve their career goals, their leadership potential and develop the organisations they work for. This industry-focused programme developed in conjunction with Screen Skills Ireland and Animation Skillnet will use a collaborative approach with the key Animation, VFX and Games Studios to ensure that the industries needs for creatives individual within their organisations who have leadership and management skills will be met. Throughout the programme, participants will critically examine their own management and leadership styles and critically reflect on their approach to managing people. International key players like Disney, Netflix and Amazon have transformed the commissioning model for content globally Indigenous industries in smaller markets and English speaking countries such as Ireland have now direct access to these commissioners

Objectives

The programme aims to build a talent pool of future leaders and to support the sustainable growth of the creative industries and empower participants to create a thriving climate that drives performance. The programme will encourage diversity and inclusion. Participants from all walks of life that have a passion and talent for the industry will have the opportunity to gain skills that will overcome any barriers they may have perceived or encountered in the past. As with any creative industry, it is important that there are voices from all sectors of life in leadership roles.
The programmes aim is to transform participants from operators and creatives to competent leaders within their creative organisations. Designed for newly appointed managers and managers in the early stage of their career, the programme will be experiential in nature and will be delivered to suit all learning styles.
Participants will explore the key issues and opportunities that inspire successful leaders to drive ambition and transform the culture within their organisation.

Entry Requirements

Qualification at Level 8/Level 9/Level 10 (in a related area) or at Level 7/Level 6 (in a related area) with significant industry experience through a thorough evaluation as per TU Dublin's RPL policy.

This course is aimed at those who have started working in a leadership or management role, leading or managing a creative team in sectors related to animation, games, vfx, AR/VR etc. This also applies to those who are interested in moving into this type of role in the future. This may include roles like project manager, production manager, team lead, supervisor, producer, director, technical director and so on.

Long Description

The Creative Leaders Programme aims to empower its participants to achieve their career goals, their leadership potential and develop the organisations they work for. This industry-focused programme developed in conjunction with Screen Skills Ireland and Animation Skillnet will use a collaborative approach with the key Animation, VFX and Games Studios to ensure that the industries needs for creatives individual within their organisations who have leadership and management skills will be met. The Olsberg SPI report 'An Economic Analysis of the Audiovisual Sector in the Republic of Ireland (2017) highlights the following: "The value of soft power in terms of international recognition of Ireland has been immensely strengthened by its output of screen content from both indigenous and inward production." This programme will be aimed at core people within companies that have moved or wish to move from a technical/creative role into a position where they are leading a creative team, within the larger organisation.

The programme is designed to maximise the impact and sustainability of learning using blended learning, off-line and on-line, industry-related case studies, diverse tutors and keynote speakers from the industry sharing their experience of development and the growth of their careers.

The programme will involve 1-2-1 coaching and mentoring support to link the learning to each participants development needs and that of their respective companies.
