This Level 6 Certificate in Food Science and Technology course is designed to help you reach your true potential in the food sector. Suitable for those who wish to upskill to build a career in the Food and Beverage, this course will give you all you need to succeed.

Combining a blend of food science and manufacturing modules with a range of industry directed modules, this course gives graduates an in-depth knowledge of Food Microbiology, Good Hygiene Practice, Manufacturing Process Technology, HACCP, Food Regulatory Affairs, Process Improvement, Occupational Safety & Environmental Management Applied Maths, Fundamentals of Science and GMP.

Getting in the door of the industry without any contacts is always a challenge. That’s where our professional development team come in. We’ll help you to tailor your CV towards an area you are interested in getting a job and use our industry contacts to help you get your foot in the door.

Designed to minimise disruption to your schedule, this two-semester course involves online lectures two evenings per week and two Saturdays a month which involve tutorials and equipment touch time in a simulated manufacturing environment.

This course is developed in collaboration with our partners at Technological University Dublin.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should possess a minimum qualification at NFQ Level 5 or a Trade Qualification.
Recognition of prior learning and experience will support entry onto this programme. Ideally candidates will have a previous history of employment.
