The Certificate in Quality Management and Statistics is a 20 credit Special Purpose Award at Level 7.

The aim of the Certificate in Quality Management & Statistics is to provide students with the basic skills necessary to work in the area of Quality within the healthcare, (bio)pharmaceutical and allied industries, specifically the Management of Quality with the aid of statistical methodologies like lean Six Sigma in those industries. It is aimed at up-skilling learners who aspire to supervisory or management roles and/or who need an understanding of Lean Six Sigma (at Yellow Belt Level).

Long Description

The Certificate in Quality Management and Statistics is a 20 credit Special Purpose Award at Level 7.

The aim of the Certificate in Quality Management & Statistics is to provide students with the basic skills necessary to work in the area of Quality within the healthcare, (bio)pharmaceutical and allied industries, specifically the Management of Quality with the aid of statistical methodologies like lean Six Sigma in those industries.It is aimed at up-skilling learners who aspire to supervisory or management roles and/or who need an understanding of Lean Six Sigma (at Yellow Belt Level).

It is designed for both job-seekers and those in employment who already have a minimum level 6 qualification in a relevant area.

The course comprises 3 modules:

1. Statistics and Lean Six Sigma for Quality Management
2. Quality Management Practices
3. Quality Management Project

Students will have an induction to the college, with an opportunity to complete a computer skills assessment and interact with LITs Virtual Learning Environment, Moodle. The modules will be classroom-based but all course materials and assignments will be available through Moodle and accessible remotely. The Quality Management Project will be mentored by an academic but may also involve interaction with a relevant industry.

Students will also be offered access to LITs Careers Service.
