This course is specifically designed to enable those, with a qualification in science or engineering, to successfully transition into technical and professional roles, within the Bio-Pharmaceutical and Medical Device sectors and to re-skill those working in the sector to fill the existing and emerging skills needs, of the industry.
This course consists of a series of scientific, technological, quality, improvement and personal development modules designed and delivered by highly experienced tutors from industry and academia. Practical Modules will be delivered in the Technological University Dublin - Tallaght Campus pilot plant facilities.
Online learning and support will be provided through the use of Moodle. Participants who were unable to attend a particular module can obtain the information online if required. Extensive Coaching & Mentorship workshops will be provided with a specific focus on individual assessment and supporting individuals in their career path.

- Aseptic Processing and Utilities
- Regulatory Affairs and GMP
- Medical Device Operations
- Biopharmaceutical Processes
- Pharmaceutical Process Chemistry
- PAT and Process Validation Statistics
- QRM Principles in Pharma and Medical Device
- Lean Operations and Deviation Investigation
- Finished Dose Formulation and Manufacturing
- Communication Skills and Work Preparation
The entry requirements are a higher level qualification at NFQ Levels 7 or above in science, engineering or a related discipline.
Ideally, candidates will possess relevant experience in manufacturing, quality, laboratory, supply chain, maintenance or engineering, in one or more of the following industries: Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Electronics, Construction, Chemical, Semiconductor, Agriculture, Finance, or Food & Beverage.
Our RPL policy will ensure that those with relevant industrial experience are given the opportunity to apply for a place where this experience will be considered in determining the suitability for the programme.
With the continued growth of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industry in Ireland, this course is suitable for those who wish to upskill to gain either
A technical position within the Pharma/Medical Device Industries in roles such as QC, QA, Project Management, Engineering, Managerial, etc. or
Supplement their existing core skills to pursue a similar role within the Pharma/Medical Device Industries in areas such as Finance, HR, IT etc.

This programme is delivered two evenings per week online and two Saturdays per month.
