About this Course

The aim of this programme is to up-skill existing science and agriculture graduates with a view to increasing their employability in the Food and Agriculture sector. The technical skills of these graduates will be enhanced by the acquisition of knowledge in areas such as business, marketing, entrepreneurship, quality management, food production and consumer assurance, and financial management systems. This will enable them to contribute to the cost-effective development and marketing of products in this sector.

The programme is part-time and the modules will be delivered across two semesters in blended mode, followed by a 12-week supervised industry work placement.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have a level 6 major award in Business, Science, Engineering or Agriculture. Applicants who do not meet these academic criteria and have experience in the Food and Beverage sector may be admitted though recognition of prior learning. Such candidates are assessed through a reference-supported application and interview.

Long Description

This will enable them to contribute to the cost-effective development and marketing of products in this sector.

* Agri Food Entrepreneurship and Innovation

12-week Industry Work Placement

Timetable Info

Learners will be expected to attend DkIT one evening per week. The remainder of the course will be delivered online.

Due to the blended learning delivery within this course students should have access to PC / Mac, a headset with a mic, and a broadband internet connection from home, so as to be able to fully participate in the course.

Application Procedures

Level 6 Major Award in Business, Science, Engineering or Agriculture.

English language level = IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

Equivalent recognition may be given through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process on an individual case-by-case basis to candidates who have not yet achieved this academic standard but who can demonstrate significant relevant professional experience.

Candidates may be interviewed.
