The Higher Diploma in Science in Computing is designed for graduates of non-Computing disciplines. It equips successful participants with a range of core IT skills, that can open career routes in the vibrant information Technology (IT) sector. A 3 month work placement concludes semester 2 of both streams. There are many career paths available to graduates ranging from careers as Web Developers to Network Administrators to IT Consultants and many careers in between. Graduates of this course will be able to apply knowledge of proven and emerging protocols, methods and tools of software engineering, information systems and systems management in the development and management of IT systems and services.
Applicant will be considered from those with Honours Degrees (Level 8) or equivalent qualifications. Other applicants will be considered on an individual basis in accordance with the IT Carlow policy on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

(3) A copy of your Level 7 Degree/ Major Award or highest other qualification. Translated if not in English
(4) A scanned copy of a recent payslip if employed showing your PPSN, or a scanned copy of a recent payment slip receipt of an eligible Department of Employment Affairs & Social Protection payment as specified in the eligibility information for two-year part-time ICT conversion courses at https://springboardcourses.ie/eligibility (Note: two year part-time ICT conversion courses are not open to those in receipt of a Jobseekers-related payment), or a letter from your Accountant confirming that you are self-employed, or an Affidavit signed by you and the appropriate third-party confirming that you are a Homemaker.
