About this Course

This conversion programme will focus on advanced biopharmaceutical science providing students with the skills required to work within the biopharmaceutical sector. The programme is aimed at graduates who have a science background and are aiming to build on their knowledge in emerging technologies in the biopharmaceutical sector. GMIT have collaborated with the local biopharmaceutical sector to develop this programme which will equip graduates with a firm grounding in the fundamentals of applied biopharmaceutical and immunotherapeutic science and skills to address the identified skills shortages in high tech manufacturing in quality control and process. Learners will cover key areas such as Applied Immunology and Immuno-therapeutics, Applied Diagnostic and Immuno-technologies, Applied Biopharmaceutical Science and Development of Biopharmaceuticals. Other key areas covered include Quality Management, Six Sigma Management and Method Validation. This programme has the support of a large number of indigenous and multinational-based pharmaceutical companies and will be delivered through a flexible blended approach.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must hold a Level 8 Bachelor (Hons) degree

Recognition of Prior Learning may be used to gain access to the programme.

Timetable Info

To enable people in the workforce study at the same time, GMIT are planning to have the labs at the end of semester over a 1-week period. While GMIT are confident that this will be the case, the programme schedule is still being finalised.
