Long Description

The new CCNA now includes security and automation and programmability. The program has one certification that covers a broad range of fundamentals for IT careers. Newly retooled for the latest technologies and job roles, the CCNA training course and exam give you the foundation you need to take your career in any direction. CCNA certification covers a breadth of topics, including Network fundamentals, Network access, IP connectivity, IP services, Security fundamentals, and Automation and programmability. This in addition to Linux knowledge will help improve your skill sets and provide you with the ability to manage and optimise network systems.

Students will learn the technical skills and soft skills needed to succeed in entry-level networking professions such as a network installer, help desk technician, pre-sales support technician, or network technician.
This course enables you to complete 2 valuable industrial certification exams in addition to your academic studies.

CCNA focuses on network infrastructure, mainly routing and switching, but it also includes wireless access, security, and connectivity to branch offices using WAN. This part of the course prepares candidates for the new CCNA Routing and Switching certification exam 200-301.

The Systems Administration module focuses on the CompTIA Linux+ and Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 certifications. It offers a framework for acquiring working knowledge of Linux for IT professionals working as junior-level system administrators, as well as those working in Web and software development. Linux is an essential skill for working in a variety of job roles in Web, systems, and network administration.

Exam vouchers and Course lab manuals are all provided as part of the course. TU Dublin has state of the art Cisco and Linux laboratories equipped with powerful desktop computers, Routers, Switches, Firewalls and Wireless equipment for the lab content.

Career Opportunities

This course is suitable for people that are unemployed, returning to the workforce, and those that need upskilling.
There are a large number of learners that would benefit from completing a NFQ level 6 in this area, particularly those with trades/retail backgrounds that would like to make a career change.
The industry has identified the Level 6 as often a minimum entry for many IT positions and this course would help workers to start in Higher Education, as there are no pre-requisites for the course.
This course also provides an opportunity for graduates to move into the Networking and Linux specialist area
