The Professional Diploma in Strategic Management in Financial Services seeks to develop a strategic sensibility and leadership skills to enable students to interrogate data to solve complex problems, formulate policy and strategy and implement changes. These transversal skills are key enablers to support transformation and innovation in the financial services sector.
The programme will provide students with a strategic analysis toolkit to enable them to evaluate and formulate business strategy. The programme will include a data perspective to enable graduates critically assess key data, and develop key strategic measures for the business. Finally, the programme will cover the key skills required to effectively manage a strategy implementation programme and associated change management.
The aim of the Professional Diploma in Strategic Management in Financial Services is to provide graduates with a specific skill set to build on their prior learning, augment their technical knowledge and competencies and up skill/ re-skill them to deal with the key changes and challenges facing their organisations and sector. The programme will provide a strategic lens through which students can integrate their technical knowhow in the provision of organisation-wide solutions, solve complex problems and formulate and implement strategy and change in a dynamic business environment.
Students seeking admission to the Professional Diploma in Strategic Management in Financial Services programmes must possess:
a) An Honours degree (second class honours grade 2 award or higher)
OR
b) Significant professional experience in financial services in a senior management role (level of experience to be considered on a case-by-case basis)
The Professional Diploma in Strategic Management in Financial Services will focus on the theory and practice underpinning strategy design, development and implementation. It seeks to develop graduates ability to ascertain and analyse the key drivers that shape and contribute to a firm’s superior performance (competitive advantage) in the marketplace.
