About this Course

The WIT Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing Practice programme has been developed in response to demand from a wide variety of industries in the South East region for graduates that are equipped with a broad portfolio of digital marketing skills. The suite of modules offered in the programme attempt to address this skills deficit. The course is delivered in an innovative and flexible manner, consisting of lectures, workshops, group work, presentations, guest speakers from industry and academia and via E-learning mode. This integrates the use of WIT's Digital Marketing Lab based teaching using marketing, web development and data analytic software, with extensive use of WIT's virtual learning environment (Moodle) for sharing of materials and enhancing communication via online discussion forums and feedback.

Participants receive intensive practical training in key digital skills such as strategic digital planning, online branding and relationship building, online content creation, web and e-commerce design, development of online communication platforms, data analytics and search engine optimisation. The programme is targeted at a broad range of potential applicants from a variety of domains (e.g. business, sports, engineering, science and humanities graduates etc.) that illustrate an interest in developing their digital marketing capability.

Preference will be given to applicants with related academic and industry experience. The course is completed over an eight-month, two-semester period, with classes running on Thursdays from 2-8pm. Both semesters involve the delivery of three 10-credit modules, presented using a combination of traditional classroom context and via E-learning modes. A unique feature of the programme is the Integrated Live Digital Project, which is combined as part of the assessment of five of the six modules in Semesters 1 and 2. This will afford the students the opportunity to work on a live digital project for an assigned organisation with links to Waterford Institute of Technology.
