This entry-level course to our suite of Lean Sigma programs has been developed with industry demands for an understanding in staff of a practical approach to problem-solving and improvement. The course is unique in blending its practical approach and delivery by academic and industry partners. Lean Sigma is applicable in all industry sectors. Our clients include; Medical Devices, Fisheries, Finance, Healthcare, Software, Charities, Education, Manufacturing, and Beverage, to name a few sectors. Lean Sigma is based on, elimination of waste, reduction of variability and engagement/respect for all staff. The Lean Sigma Yellow Belt course introduces the methods and tools for interpretation of customer requirements for service design and operations in all industry sectors.
A certified Lean Sigma Yellow Belt is will be capable of applying basic improvement principles and tools show measurable results. The programme consists of an assessment of theory by examination, as well as an assessment of practice by portfolio.
Industry commitment has been very strong to support attendance on a daily schedule and not fully online where practical interaction of workshop elements is not repeatable. It is also seen as a commitment to employee support to attend on work time. The course is a single accreditation and requires no further exams or projects for completion. It has no third-party external exams required.

A certified Lean Sigma Yellow Belt has the knowledge to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in their workplace. A Yellow Belt can apply Lean Sigma principles and problem solving tools to eliminate waste and reduce variation in a process. A Yellow Belt understands how improvements are made through team effort.
Course Content
Introduction to Lean and Six Sigma, DMAIC Methodology and Tools, Lean Sigma Concepts, Continuous Improvement Tools, Voice of the Customer Improving service processes, Eliminating Waste, Reduction in Variation, In-class project work
Candidates must have a total of at least four years combined academic and industrial experience in a suitable working environment with proven ability. It is suitable for all staff.
