About this Course

The BSc in Computing in Digital Forensics & Cyber Security creates top-class Cyber Security graduates that are work ready for the security threats and challenges confronting business today.

Topics covered are Computer & Network Forensics, Secure Communications, Professional Penetration Testing, Network Security and Programming Security. Underpinning the student development is the group project module which is based
upon novel real-world cybersecurity problems and case studies.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Digital Forensics & Cyber Security will have the knowledge and skills to take up employment in a broad number of areas within the cybersecurity sector. Over the course of its history, the programme has produced high calibre in-demand graduates who now work in leading cybersecurity companies such as ReliaQuest, Ward Solutions, Integrity 360, Liberty IT, EdgeScan, Accenture, Salesforce, Deloitte and IBM. Our graduates contribute to Irelands fast-growing Cyber Security sector which now features 60 specialist Irish Cyber Security Companies & Start-ups.
The sector currently employs 6,000 people and our graduates are in high demand.
The student experience is a mix of online and classroom delivery. Students gain first-hand experience of a range of industry-standard platforms and tools in use within industry. The applied nature of the programme is also supported by the
on-campus Cisco Academy network security labs which are used to provide a valuable hands-on experience to students.

This is a one-year part-time add-on level 7 degree for students with a level 6 in ICT related qualification.

The programme is delivered predominantly online with some face-to-face workshops for students who are in a position to travel to the institute.
