Long Description

The programme is a one-year Level 9 programme providing participants from diverse backgrounds with the requisite skillset in digital marketing to succeed in a rapidly growing and evolving field. The macro-economic need for the programme is well established. The Future Jobs Ireland Report (2019) had as one of its pillar objectives ambitions to position Ireland as a leader in implementing a strategic approach to maximise the benefits from digitalisation . The suite of modules on offer in this programme embrace this challenge by equipping the graduate with the strategic capability (Strategic Digital Planning, Digital Implementation, Digital Branding & e-CRM) and technological underpinning (Digital Design, Digital Platforms & e-Commerce, Data Analytics & SEO) to operationalise and commercialise the technological opportunities. The need for skills in this domain has been accelerated by the essential move online for many businesses wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic (Irish e-Commerce Report 2021, Wolfgang Digital)

Programme delivery is innovative and flexible, consisting of online lectures, workshops, guest speakers from industry and academia and via E-learning mode. Participants receive intensive practical training in key digital skills such as strategic digital planning, online content creation, online branding and relationship building, web and e-commerce design, development of online communication platforms, data analytics and search engine optimisation. The programme is completed over a two semester period, with both semesters involving the delivery of three 10-credit modules, taught using a combination of live-streamed classes room context and via E-learning modes. The live stream classes are delivered on campus in WIT, with c taking place one afternoon/evening per week. A unique feature of the programme is the Integrated Live Digital Project, which sees the student engage with a company on a live project that is assessed across five of the six modules in Semesters 1 and 2.
