The current minimum entry requirements for students to be accepted on the Graduate Diploma in Finance and Business Analytics are as follows:
a) Applicants must hold at least a Level 8 qualification in business/finance/economics/IT

Long Description

The Graduate Diploma in Finance and Business Analytics will be taught over one academic year and its aim is to enable participants:
- to develop quantitative, analytical and ICT skills to carry out data and financial analysis tasks.
- to communicate and interpret the output of their analysis.
- to exhibit curiosity, in a critical manner, in evaluating analysis undertaken by themselves or others.
- to develop their careers within their current employment or as an initial stepping off point for a career as financial analyst/data analyst.
Candidates will learn not only the theory underpinning core phenomena in business analytics but will also work with ‘live’ data. This will take place in a newly developed Finance Lab which has been specified and developed with this programme in mind.
Core delivery will take place over two semesters. Initially, this will be in traditional mode: full time during day hours, on campus although, depending on demand, more flexible formats of delivery can also be deployed. The programme will be delivered using a mix of lectures and practicals (IT lab based). Practice-based training will be central to this with candidates receiving specialised training in PL-SQL, Real Stats, Eikon, Stocktrak and Qlikviews.
The selection of the modules that comprise the programme has been guided by the desire to provide candidates with insights into some of the core elements of finance and business analytics.
- Data Analysis - IS Aspects (associated modules: Data Modelling & Analytics, Programming for Data Science and IS Programme Management)
- Data Analysis - Finance Aspects (associated modules are Statistics for Data Analytics, Trading the Financial Markets and Financial Regulation & Compliance Management)
- Data Analysis - Interpretation and Communication (associated modules: Business Intelligence, and Corporate Financial Analysis)
- Future Proof (associated modules: DLT & Blockchain, Business and Professional Internship).
