AONTAS    AONTAS is the National Adult Learning Organisation, a voluntary membership organisation. It exists to promote the development of a learning society through the provision of a quality and comprehensive system of adult learning and education which is accessible to and inclusive to all.

Citizens Information    This site provides information on public services and entitlements in Ireland. It is provided by the Citizens Information Board.

European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)    ECTS makes teaching and learning in higher education more transparent across Europe and facilitates the recognition of all studies. The system allows for the transfer of learning experiences between different institutions, greater student mobility and more flexible routes to gain degrees. It also aids curriculum design and quality assurance.

Local Employment Service (LES) Network    Local Employment Service Networks provides a range of services to the local community focusing on the provision of practical support, advice, guidance and information relating to employment, training and return to work and welfare rights options. We have been operating since1996 and to date over 280,000 people have registered with us to use our services.

THEA    The Institutes of Technology are state-recognized flexible and dynamic third level institutions focused on teaching and learning, purpose-driven research, and economic, social, and cultural engagement. Uniquely, they allow students to progress from two year (higher certificate) programmes through primary degree to Masters and PhD awards and such awards are fully integrated with the highest award levels of the Irish National Framework of Qualifications. THEA is their advocacy and representative body.

Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI)    is an independent State agency responsible for promoting quality and accountability in education and training services in Ireland. It was established in 2012 by the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012 .

QualifaX    QualifaX is Ireland’s National Learners’ Database. It is the "one stop shop" for learners. We provide the most comprehensive information on further and higher education and training courses.

Social Protection Facilitator    The National Development Plan (NDP) 2007 -2013 provides for the Social and Economic Participation Programme involving an investment of 50m in a new initiative by the Department of Social Protection. The programme is specifically targeted at encouraging and supporting those on social welfare to make the transition from passive welfare payments to active participation in employment.

Student Finance    This website is a convenient and user-friendly source of information on financial support for further and higher education.

The Adult Educational Guidance Association of Ireland    The AEGAI will aim to accurately and appropriately represent the views of its members to ensure the continued development of professional Adult Educational Guidance in Ireland.

The Higher Education Authority (HEA)    This website provides general information and guidance on going to higher educatiion
